5. A Fool Scolds a Drowning Child
One day a youngster went to swim
And got swept down the stream
So she began to shout for help,
But heard a man blaspheme.
You god-forsaken backward kid!
He cried,
You silly fool,
Why are you there? You're
almost drowned!
What have you learned in school?
He climbed up on a river bank
To get a better view,
And put his hands upon his hips
And shook his finger too.
Kind sir,
she cried,
Yes, I was dumb
To get into this hole,
But show you're wise and save
my life
Before you fix my soul.
MORAL: Give care before you give advice.
