13. A Lovesick Cat Becomes a Woman
A lovesick cat once longed to have
Her master as her lover,
So Goddess Venus took her part
And made a woman of her.
She quickly won the master's heart
They were to wed in style!
But as the priest began to speak,
A mouse ran up the aisle!
The bride let out an awful snarl
And raced after the mouse
Until it vanished down a hole
That was its little house.
The master screamed:
You chased a mouse!
What horror could be greater!
Don't sweat the small stuff,
she replied,
I'll catch the big ones later.
ENOUGH!
said Venus,
You have failed
To humanize
your soul
!
So she was made a cat again,
A more befitting role.
MORAL: Radical human change is rare.
