A FOXY PROPOSITION
Dear God, though stories show the fox
As sly prevaricator,
In prayers like this, we tell the truth,
For you are our Creator.
You made us what we are today,
I hope you're satisfied,
Before your face, deceit
won't work:
There's nothing we can hide.
So in return for honesty
And prayer, sincere and right,
We pray that you'll give us the job
To guard the hens at night!
Don't laugh! Dear God,
unless you trust
The foxes you have made,
We'll always lack true self-esteem
And judge ourselves Low Grade!
So show your glory, Holy One,
And make your honor glow!
We'll guard the hens, you trust our strength
To sniff, then just Say NO!
