THE GUMPTION OF A GOAT
Tie me to a wagon,
I'll pull it till I'm sore,
But in my heart of hearts I know
I'm made for something more.
A lowly "Goat" they call me,
But, God, you know my dreams,
I long to climb the highest peaks
And leap the wildest streams.
I truth, I am Adventure,
Ambition, Risk, and Dream,
More bold than ox or sheep or cow
With richer milk and cream.
There's nothing that can bind me,
I'll butt until I'm free
Through fence or wall till I become
Who I was meant to be.
